The Firewise Home Assessment Program is provided free of charge to Hidden Hills residents.
Experiments, models, and post-fire studies have shown that homes often ignite due to conditions on the structure itself, such as flammable roofing, vents, or decks, and within 100 feet of it, where dry vegetation, combustible landscaping, and other fuels can accumulate. This critical area is known as the Home Ignition Zone (HIZ).
As part of Hidden Hills’ designation as a recognized Firewise Community, Free Home Ignition Zone Assessments are offered to residents. Upon request, a trained volunteer Wildfire Assessor will visit your property for a guided walk-through, offering advice to enhance your home’s resilience. The assessment includes valuable guidance on Home Hardening and Defensible Space best practices.
HIZ specialists will also provide a written report with customized recommendations to help reduce wildfire risk and enhance your home’s resilience. This program empowers homeowners with proven strategies to prevent structure loss during a wildfire.
Don’t miss this opportunity to improve your home’s safety.
There are Three Home Ignition Zones:
- Immediate Zone (Zone 0)
- Intermediate Zone (Zone 1)
- Extended Zone (Zone 2)
