What a Firewise Community Means for You

Wildfire is a reality in our region, and preparation remains key. On Tuesday, September 30, the City of Hidden Hills hosted a Community Wildfire Mitigation Meeting as part of its ongoing Firewise Community efforts. This national program brings neighbors together with local, state, and federal partners to strengthen wildfire safety in the wildland/urban interface.

Residents joined members of the City Council, the Los Angeles County Fire Department, and the City’s Firewise Consultant for an informative discussion focused on practical steps to protect homes and families. The meeting covered what Firewise Community recognition means for residents, how it can affect insurance rates, and actionable tips on home hardening and defensible space. Attendees also learned about qualifying Firewise activities and how to request a free professional fire assessment of their property.

The presentation was recorded and can be watched below.
