This newsletter will include vital information on how you can help protect your home and family from wildfire.
Our Mission
The mission of Hidden Hills Firewise is to work with federal, state, and local agencies to protect life and property from wildfire in Hidden Hills, California. We carry out projects that educate homeowners on how to safeguard their homes and create defensible space. We also engage in fuel mitigation efforts to reduce wildfire risks in Hidden Hills’ open spaces.
While the primary goal is protecting life and property, the program is also very focused on reducing the cost and increasing the availability of homeowner insurance, especially in the wake of rising rates throughout California.
Our Role
We serve as a communications hub between homeowners and fire-related and municipal agencies. This two-way communication helps shape our initiatives and ensure we meet the community’s needs. Our funding comes primarily from state, local, and corporate grants.
Our Key Initiatives
- Strengthen home resiliency against wildfire
- Help reduce homeowner insurance costs
- Provide free Home Ignition Zone (HIZ) assessments
- Educate residents on home hardening and defensible space strategies
- Reduce wildfire fuel in Hidden Hills’ open spaces
- Build an active and effective Hidden Hills Firewise community
